Sawdust

Our Sawdust is Doug Fir 1/8" wood kernels. It is Green Sawdust, meaning since it does not go through a kiln, it is damp from the natural wetness of the wood. The small kernels are easy to pick through but not very absorbent and not dusty. As well as being used for animal bedding, sawdust can also be used for healing in plants and for blueberries. Unfortunately, we do not have sawdust available at all times. We can easily have a load ready when needed within a week's notice. Please call with plenty of time before you are out of bedding.

Green Shavings

(Doug Fir)

Green Shavings are larger flakes, making them harder to sift through when stall cleaning. It is damp from the natural wetness of the wood since it does not go through a kiln, preventing the product from having dust. Its big and fluffy flakes make a nice bed for your animals when lying down.

Kiln Dried Shavings

(Hem Fir)

Kiln-dried shavings are smaller flakes, making them easy to sift through when stall cleaning. They are put in a kiln to be dried, causing them to be more absorbent while also causing dust. Shavings are usually used for animal bedding but can also be used as mulch. We can also do custom mixes with both types of shavings. Our friendly staff is here to help guide you to the right type of shavings for your barn.
